Same model, almost 20 years apart.
This one is my new desktop background
Now kiss
2nd gen S10s are small as it is, but 1st gens are downright minuscule. I already told my brother’s friend who owns the truck when he wants to get rid of it come to me first because it’s one of the nicest OG S10s I’ve seen in a long time.

Back when longbeds on little pickups was still a thing.

Being small isn’t a bad thing. Their current successor is way too damn big for what it is.
I find it funny that despite being almost 20 years apart, they’re also only one generation apart. Trucks have long product cycles.

They’re also riding on the same chassis.

All these S-10 posts are making me seriously nostalgic. Why are S-10's more expensive than Rangers on Craigslist?

I like how small those trucks (and the second gen also) are. Just a magical size that doesn’t exist anymore... My first car was a 98 S-10, regular cab short box, 2.2L, 2wd, 5 speed, and it had been lowered. My current truck... kinda dwarfs those things. The only bad thing about the first gen was that they effectively killed the El Camino.
So... that means that since the new ones are so big, the Ute will be coming back sometime?
